Extreme tourism

Altai is a Mecca of active tourism. Fans of such a vacation strive here to travel on foot and skiing, on horseback or get a dose of adrenaline - rafting down the rough rivers on rafts, catamarans, kayaks or paragliding to the tops of the mountains.

Paragliding
In the Altai Territory there is a unique place for flights - the only certified paragliding campsite in Siberia "Bobrovaya Zaimka" in the Soloneshensky District.
The most favorable seasons for flights are called winter, the days when the weather is set.

Snowkiting
Winter kiting, also called snowkiting, is high-speed skiing with the help of a special kite - a kite. Even a small wind force is enough for riding. The foothills in the Belokurikha area are ideal for snowkiting. It is a very young, but rapidly gaining popularity sport and recreation. Many skiers have taken a great interest in kiting and now ride in the foothills of Altai.

Altai ski slopes
The ski season in the Altai Territory opens in early December and ends at the end of March. The tracks are located in the most picturesque corners of the region. On the territory of the region there are about 40 ski slopes with a length from 250 m to 2500 m and a height difference from 75 m to 550 m. The resort town of Belokurikha and its ski complex "Blagodat" are rightfully considered the mecca of ski tourism.

Rafting
This is one of the most popular types of tourism and recreation. In the Altai Territory, a section of the lower Katun and the Charysh River is recommended for beginners, the Peschanaya River for the more prepared and for experienced water workers of the Kumir and Korgon rivers. Rafting on the rivers can be combined with horse crossings, as well as excursions in the surrounding area.
